The St Albans Oxfam Group have raised thousands of pounds for Oxfam’s work since thier first Hike back in 1995. Last year’s hike raised £6,000 for Oxfam’s work in Bolivia and Heartwood saw the great crowds of walkers, young and old taking part.
This year will be no exception and the hike will be passing through Heartwood once again on Saturday 24th September, fancy joining us?
There are four routes varying from 3 to 19 miles, all starting and finishing in Sandridge Village. The ‘mini hike’ will be suitable for young children and pushchair friendly, or for those wanting a shorter walk. This can be 3 or 4 miles and you will take in Heartwood Forest.
After passing through Heartwood there is a choice of longer routes, so your distance can be 8, 14 or even 19 miles. All routes are waymarked and marshalled.
You can download route maps, walkers’ information and sponsorship forms from th elink below, along with details of this year’s project – Oxfam’s work in Thailand for mothers, children and young people affected by HIV/AIDS.
