Heartwood played host to the Redbourn and district ploughing match on 10th September.
The Ploughing Match is said to be the highlight of the agricultural year in communities all over the country. It brings people together all in the name of a bit of light (and not so light in some cases!) sportsmanship. Competitors, if successful and gain enough points, can then go on to the county ploughing match and potentially the UK Finals.
With around 30 ploughmen competing it was a sight to see that many ploughs in the fields all at once, have a look at these photos taken on the day:
