So we’re half way through the planting season at Heartwood and we’re well on our way to achieving another ambitious target this winter at Heartwood. To date we have planted over 40,000 trees, every single one planted by a volunteer. Huge thanks needs to go out to everyone who has helped us so far, you are a true inspiration, battling the wind, rain and sometimes the snow to make sure we’re on target!
We still have around 40,000 to go so we’re hoping your enthusiasm hasn’t settled just yet and you’ll be up for some planting over the next couple of months. Here’s all the ways you can get involved:
Community tree planting events – we are planning one more weekend community planting events this year on 16th March. Get the date in your diary and bring along your friends and neighbours.
School tree planting weeks – we are providing 4 more weeks of opportunities for school children to get involved. Do you know a school that would benefit from this?
Weekly work parties – each week local volunteers get together to plant trees and drink tea! Come along, meet some new friends and feel good about helping our environment.
Corporate team building days – are you allowed days off work to volunteer? Are you responsible for organising this year’s team building day? If so tree planting is the perfect way to give back and get to know your colleagues in a very different environment.
Don’t be shy, get in touch for more details about any of these events by emailing email@example.com.
