If you would like to pick up a copy of the event booklet for Heartwood Forest, they are now available in the leaflet dispensers in the car park.


The first walk is on Sunday 18th March, when there is a Wildlife Walk.


Don’t forget there is also the celebration of the final tree going in on Sunday 25th March. Why not come along to see the last tree being planted and join in the celebrations.

It was the final community planting session at Heartwood Forest yesterday. It went really well, with 424 people coming who planted a massive 4150 trees!

Only a few days now until the final community planting event at Heartwood Forest. Why not come along and plant some trees this Sunday and play a part in the creation of this wonderful forest?

Details are on the poster below. Please park in the Heartwood Forest car park and you will be taken to the planting site. Please wear suitable footwear and clothing.

There are wildlife and photography walks, the Summer Festival, tree planting and the Final Tree Ceremony – and Heartwood’s first Nature Detectives Live event.

Please note that booking is required for some of the events – details are in the leaflet. Booking may not be available yet for some of the walks, but will be open within the next few weeks.

Pack a picnic, a mat, some games and sun cream, and bring your picnic along together with your friends and family to invite a tree to tea.

The location of the festival within Heartwood Forest has changed – it is just off the all-ability route, at the top of the hill above the main car park.

If you fancy a day out somewhere completely different to Heartwood Forest, why not visit Tring Park for the Family Festival? Tring Park is just behind the Natural History Museum in Tring, and shares a car park with the museum. It’s a stunning site, managed by the Woodland Trust, with open, rolling grassland (with grazing cows) and beautiful woodland walks too.
